Wreck Kills Five in Union Pacific Train Disaster at Sunol
A devastating Union Pacific wreck near Sunol twelve miles east of Sidney occurred at about 4 30 Monday morning when passenger No 3 from the east collided with the westbound No 2 section. Five people died and many were injured as gas from a ruptured car ignited, telescoping cars and burning coaches. Firemen and doctors treated the injured at Sidney while coroner's inquest and official inquiries followed.
