5000 Added Daily To Nebraska Relief Rolls
The relief road in Nebraska is increasing by 5,000 persons a week, Harry Elmore, state director of FERA, says. One reason government stepped into relief is counties could not manage their business. Transient problem noted. Nebraska relief this month will require more than a million dollars. Nationwide, about 12 million unemployed, 5 million on relief. 14 million of the latter are unemployable. In Nebraska about 35,000 unemployable including dependents, Elmore stated. The speaker corrected the belief that taking odd jobs ends relief status. Complaint Names 2 For Alleged Robbery
A criminal complaint was filed in county court against Frank Kripal and Eugene Gilbert of Lodge Pole charging theft of 180 bushels of wheat from a granary on the Frank Rowan place near Gurley.
