Lesser Apple Worm Threats Fruit in Barrels and Orchards
A United States Department of Agriculture bulletin warns the lesser apple worm damages apples and fruit in barrels, infesting plums, peaches, and cherries. It parallels codling moth history, is common from Canada to Georgia, and responds to codling moth spray programs using arsenicals and banding. Early fall and petal-drop timing are key for calyx-area poison placement.
