Sidney County Board Closes Year with Transfers and Appointments
The Retiring Board of Cheyenne County Nebraska approves audits for 1897, transfers $100 to the General Fund, and issues warrants for claims. W. Bullock, clerk, is instructed to refund $13.16 tax overpayment and to appoint W. C. Bullock as Deputy County Clerk for 1897 at $700 yearly. The board adjourns sine die after approving numerous bridge fund and general fund claims and appointing officials and guardians.

Joint Installation of G A R and W R C Officers
On Saturday January 2 1597 members of the G A R and W R C held a joint session to install officers for the year. J Neubauer supervised the G A R installation with several post officers named. The W R C installed its officers with T B Dawson officiating and a post program followed by a lunch for about 45 to 50 attendees. The event ended with praise for the benevolence of both orders.
