Reward Set In Slaying Of Stallion

A $200 reward is offered by local stockmen for information leading to the capture of the person who shot and killed a valuable registered quarter horse stallion near Lodgepole during Christmas. The 12 year old sorrel named Martins Hobo, owned by Fred Quinn, was found dead in a pasture west of Lodgepole on December 29, after being shot from behind with a high powered rifle. The horse, valued at about $2,000, had sire status in a large herd and had long been part of the Quinn family, show ring entries, and local stock shows. Four other horses in the pasture were unharmed. The death has stirred strong sentiment among area stockmen who seek to make an example of the culprit.
