Burbach Tax Bill Advances in Nebraska Legislature
Sen J W Burbach’s personal property tax exemption bill L B 1101 won 29 to 16 on first floor test, one vote short of overriding Gov Exon veto. Amendments by Sen Swanson trimmed starting exemptions to 15 percent rising to 90 percent in six years. Exon’s SB 1475 remains alternative. Carpenter proposed expedited passage to test veto viability.
