Gentle Snow Covers Area
Snow in the region over the past week lightens air pollution but offers unclear soil or crop benefits. February or January snow is routine and not particularly welcomed or deplored. Wheat roots remain deep from fall growth, with March and April rain and warmth expected to matter most for emergence. Sunday night’s calm snowfall created a scenic view as calving and lambing begin in the Panhandle. Farmers and ranchers hope for no major storm or sudden freeze.
