Sidney Nebraska considers sewer bonds for a village system

The Sidney board votes to issue 22 000 in bonds for a sewer system and calls a special election. Civil engineer William Grant of Lincoln reports in favor of a separate sanitary system with trenches in alleys, gravity flow, flushing tanks, and a disposal plant with septic tanks. Cost estimates tabulated, Plan A at 23 480 00 dollars and Plan B about 450 higher.

Mrs. Dawson Hosts Charming Afternoon Social

Mrs. T B Dawson entertained a group of friends at her home in honor of Mrs. Phillips of Iowa and Mrs. Roney of Salida Colorado. The event featured an Around the World in an Airhip travel game and a five course luncheon with soft music during service.

Former Sidney Girl Becomes a Heroine on Pacific Voyage

Ruth Ragan daughter of J B Ragan a former Sidney resident saved a friend from drowning after both were swept overboard near Hawaii while en route from San Francisco to Japan in January. The Colorado College graduate and Nippon association secretary design and lifelong civic worker was admired by Denver friends for her swift action and swimming skill. Her father leads Sterling Colorado public schools.
