Dalton Would Sell Municipal Plant To Western Public Service
M D Parks of Western Public Service in Scottsbluff submitted a proposal to Dalton village trustees to transfer the municipal electric plant. Dalton would turn over the city building and small unit while Western would take the large engine and switchboard and build a twelve mile transmission line at no cost to match a 20000 dollar expenditure. Western seeks a 65 year franchise with no rate increases during the term. Dalton would see 15 cents per kWh for lights, 8 cents for power, and about 4 3/4 cents for heat with a sliding scale favoring large users. A village election would likely be required before the deal to proceed.
