23 Road Fatalities In January in Nebraska
Traffic accidents killed 23 persons on Nebraska streets and highways in January, the highest January total since 1938. Captain C. J. Sanders of the Nebraska Safety Patrol says the January toll shows a 64 percent rise from 14 in January 1945. He warns that the year may see an all time high in accidents due to more cars, longer miles driven since rationing ended, and hazards from snow and poor visibility.
