Strong Nebraska farmer group forms to back gas tax exemption
A large farmer association forms to push a petitioned gas tax exemption through the legislature while debating bond plans and a two million dollar annual allocation. W B Cheek of the Omaha chamber warns the debenture plan may be discarded without broader public support. A bipartisan state highway commission concept is proposed, with one member from each congressional district and governor appointments. The annual meeting is set for October 12 in Kearney.
