Petitions with over 400 names urged the Board of Commissioners to submit a bond issue of 75000 for a new courthouse. The commission has set March 11 for a special election after studying the proposition in detail. Official proclamation appears in another column.
J M Swenson plans to take possession of the new garage by late March. The shop will be fully equipped with modern auto care machinery, separate washstands, and individual lockers. Harry H Roberts of Cheyenne will run the shop while Swenson handles management as Sidney hosts a grand opening with free rides refreshments and an informal dance.
P Witters and wife returned from a week in Denver and witnessed M Paulham circling Overland Park at about fifty feet. The flyer has drawn crowds for months with his air ship feats and impressed Mr. Witter with the machine's air propulsion.
The Firemen's ball last Tuesday drew a packed opera house with high attendance and a well-patronized Catholic Ladies supper. Organizers say they offered a good time while aiming to improve finances for next year and plan to secure a stronger box office.
The company schedules a first class vaudeville act next Tuesday February 15. The program promises constant laughter from start to finish with no wasted moments and includes a new thrill or two as part of the show.

Miss Rushia A. Hart wed John M. Sager on February 7 1910 at the Catholic church with a ring ceremony. Attendants included Mrs. Robert A. Barlow, a bride’s sister, and out of town guests Mr. and Mrs. Gus Buckingham. The couple planned two months’ honeymoon in California and will reside in Cheyenne Wyoming.
George Heist, 22, son of the late Judge Heist, was killed on January 30 near Tama when an engine on the Northwestern line struck him as he and two coworkers attempted to transfer baggage from the depot. He is remembered as a trusted railroad man and a well regarded citizen.

Largest outflows include 13,841.68 to school districts and 8,186.18 from the county general fund, while top balances sit at 17,709.88 in school districts 12,324.84 in county bridge and 11,813.55 in county general. Burlington lines management undergoes changes with Bracken promoted to assistant general manager of C B & Q lines to Chicago. F E Young, Sheridan, to general superintendent Alliance. C D Peckenbaugh promoted to superintendent Sterling-Denver. F G Robbins moved to Sheridan as division chief.
