Sidney Now a City by Population In Second Class
The village board declared Sidney a second class city by population and ward divisions. North of the U P railroad is one ward. Rose street divides the south side into wards. At the April 4 election current trustees go out. two aldermen, a treasurer, city engineer, and pace judge will be elected. Salaries set by ordinance include clerk 300, treasurer 300, city engineer 4 per day up to 300 yearly, overseer 2 per day up to 300, city attorney 250, chief of police 65 monthly, mayor 200, and councilmen 50 yearly. Citizens urged to prepare for the field.

U S Flagg of Omaha spent a week in and near the city and plans to return to supervise Cropping near Moore brothers ranch. Mrs Flora LB Essig departed for Lincoln to attend the state hardware merchants convention and visit a sister, gone ten days or two weeks. Agent Johnson of the American Express office was called to Pocatello Idaho by the death of a sister, and remains were taken to North Platte for interment.

Cluas Widens North Divide Busy in Sidney
Claus Widens of the north divide was busy in Sidney Monday. Tiswo children, Mrs. Charles Thiemann and Barney Edens, are both growing strong again after serious operations in an eastern hospital. A Bundy of Potter has sold out his interests at that place and left this week for Edwall Washington where he will make his future home he has been a resident of Potter for many years. Guy Shaw, one of the happy settlers of the south divide, traded in Sidney Monday. He has lately returned from a trip to the eastern part of the state and is better satisfied therefore with his investment here RW Wright returned Tuesday from Gering where he had spent a few days preparing to go into business there His plans are about completed to locate in the new Ger ing when he has completed his contracts here.
