Obituary for Barbara Collart four year old
The four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Collart died after seven days of pneumonia. She passed on January 30 and the funeral was held February 1 at home with Rev. Hayes. Burial followed at Dalton cemetery. The child was much loved and her loss is a heavy blow to her devoted parents. A younger son and daughter remain. Mrs. Collart is the daughter of Commissioner Halston. The community extends sympathy in this keen grief.

Death of A. A. Wirt at Omaha and Educator
A. A. Wirt died in Omaha late last week from heart failure after bronchitis. He was father of Van A. Wirt, chief dispatcher at the Union Pacific here. Wirt taught at Boyles College in Omaha and was known across western Missouri as a longtime educator.

Serious Blood Mix Up After Ranch Dance Fight
A garbled report details a quarrel at Charles Estes's Bentley ranch three miles west of town. Lee Bayliff, Elmer Kreuger, and Sol Judd suffered cuts. Kreuger required two doctors to stop bleeding from facial wounds and a cut near the eye. A Close Call for the Mercantile Fire
Saturday evening near nine o clock a blaze broke out on the second floor of the Sidney Mercantile. Four people used chemical extinguishers and water soaked blankets to extinguish the flames before an alarm could trigger costly water damage. The fire started in a grass wardrobe near blankets and garments which were destroyed. Vigilant watch was kept all night to prevent further sparks. The store plans to increase fire safety with more extinguishing gear.
