Governor’s Budget Signals I-80 Timing Question Looms
Gov J J Exon’s budget message gives mixed signals for western Nebraska highways. He rejects selling $10 million highway revenue bonds and will fund highway plans by reducing non construction funds. No cuts are planned to Nuernberger’s road construction request, leaving I 80 completion timing unclear beyond late 1973 or early 1974.
