Pre vocational program helps Sidney handicapped prepare for work
In Sidney Educational Service Unit No 14 begins a first of its kind pre vocational program for 14 to 21 year olds with mental or physical handicaps. Directed by Michaela Nelson with Judy Rosenbaum assisting the four current students learn personal maintenance social skills food preparation and work orientation four days a week. The program aims to bridge gaps between school and adult services and to provide realistic job training such as waitressing and motel housekeeping. Families must consent and ESU must be contacted to enroll for next school year.
