Opening Night At Carnegie Library A City Event

The Carnegie Library Board and the Woman Club announce a public reception and musical evening for the library’s formal opening. Helping Hand Society Meets At Mrs Nelsons Home

The Helping Hand society of the south divide met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs J W Nelson at her home in this city. In bitter cold there was a good turnout and all enjoyed one of Mrs Nelsons famous luncheons. The afternoon focused on business and planning an elaborate feast for men at the Earl Hiett home Saturday. Mrs Joe Wesner of Cheyenne arrived to help speed the parting guest.

Law forteen age drivers to be enforced statewide

State officials announce a new law prohibiting anyone under sixteen from driving. The rule allows sixteen to nineteen year olds to drive only when accompanied by a parent guardian or other adult. Under sixteen may not drive under any condition.

Former Sheriff McDaniel Sued for Five Thousand

Deputy United States Marshal Wright served papers in Sidney on former County Sheriff J W McDaniel and bondsmen J J McIntosh and F B Tobin. Claude McRae, once in Sidney Municipal Service, sues for 5000 damages over alleged statements by McDaniel. The suit, aided by Attorneys Matson and Spencer, will be heard in U S court.

Fifteen directors host salmon feast at Vienna cafe

Last Wednesday in Vienna the Farmers Co operative Union directors and wives gathered for a hour and a half feast around a large salmon gifted by H. P. Edwards of Western Lumber and Millworks Tacoma. Lucky Head-On Involving Livery Car Near Sidney

Two cars collided about two miles east of town Monday evening. Paul Borgquist, en route to Sidney, collided with a Lodgepole livery car carrying several ladies when the driver failed to turn right. Both cars sustained damage but no injuries were reported. The livery vehicle was towed to Sidney for extensive repairs.
