Penny For A Pound Gift At TOPS Santa Visit
Santa made a surprise visit to the SWL Tops Club at the First United Methodist Church handing red stockings filled with pennies for each pound members lost this year. Best Loser was Mrs Jerome Kaminski and Mrs Ralph Welch reached her goal last week. Gifts went to members who had lost three or more pounds since early November. Forbidden foods for the week are alcoholic beverages and pop.

Beta Alpha Sorority Hosts Holiday Meetings and Gifts Drive
Beta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held a December 1 Christmas meeting at Mrs Jack Wiedeburg’s home with co host Mrs Mike Thorpe. They planned a Christmas tree and gifts for a local family and noted gifts to Tammy Simms at the Beatrice State Home. A Dec 4 tea hosted by Xi Jota Chapter featured caroling, a chili supper, and drawings for tree skirts and a ceramic tree. The group celebrated with carols, secret sisters, and plans for January 5 at Mrs Dickes’ home.

Mr and Mrs Emil Van Mark are honored at a 45th anniversary open house this Sunday from 2 to 6 p m at their home 1204 23rd in Sidney smiling daughters and seven grandchildren host. The Van Marks have lived in Cheyenne County most of their married life and in Sidney for the past year. Gifts are not requested.
