Sugarbeet Checks Due On Saturday

The Great Western Sugar Company will disburse a second payment by Saturday December 13 totaling nearly 22 million for beets delivered Nov 4 through Nov 30. Through Nov 30, total beet payments reach 58 million plus 10.3 million Sugar Act payments, with 25.8 million paid on Nov 19 for beets through Nov 4. The harvest faced delays from cold and snow, and payments reflect lower sugar content and frost-damaged contracts as growers share processing risk. Funding remains subject to ongoing processing and weather conditions.
