A financial firm advertises general banking business including buying and selling foreign and domestic drafts. It offers issue of passage tickets to and from Europe, insurance services, prompt collections, and remittance facilities.
A tramp killed near Cheyenne after breaking into the Van nice home and stealing 18. The father pursued the suspect with a revolver and team, but the man was found dead five miles north of Cheyenne with a bullet in the head. Sheriff Eubank arrested another man described by witnesses, but he denies involvement. The dead man was known locally. investigations continue as officials hold the suspects.
The district court convened Monday with Judge W H Morris presiding in Crete. Forty nine cases were on the docket including several continued from last term. Notable figures included John Meade and J R DeRother ton plus county attorney J W Bixler and reporter J W Brewster. Damages totaled 4500 in Kane vs Coad. Home Cattle Co won judgment against Coad and Murphy. Two liquor license cases against EB L Yarlett resulted in guilty verdicts. Geof Arnold’s murder trial was continued. Grand jury probed various matters. Full report next week.
E Gabrielson of Orion Indiana engages for years in inducing settlers to visit the county and settle. He defends claims of Slonest, Shrowrh M Gabrielson, Henry Johnson, Will R Morrow and Thos M Free man through Norvell McIntosh, bearing goodwill and guarding settlers rights.
The convention at Harrisburg nominated a full union ticket for commissioner districts one through three, clerk, treasurer, judge, sheriff, superintendent of schools, surveyor, attorney, and coroner with named candidates. The Golden Gate special train halted, drawing city crowds and praise for its ride. Chas Trognitz to run the Sidney Alliance stage line with daily service starting mid month.
