County official urges using bonds for courthouse upgrades
Cheyenne County could fund courthouse improvements with 93 000 from existing bonds and a two mill levy over two to three years. If approved the levy could finance a new courthouse with no interest, following West Point Nebraska as a model. The plan addresses space shortages in the treasurer and county clerk offices and to preserve records, with officials arguing no extra debt is needed.
