The Union Pacific Strike at North Platte Aug 1902
Special report disputes widespread strike claims and alleges false reports from both sides. It describes two months of strikes by machinists and boiler makers over piece work, asserts trains run, but workers suffer wages loss and intimidation of wives and townspeople. It notes mayoral actions to curb violence and accuses Omaha papers of fabrications while North Platte papers mislead readers.
