Sculptor to Repair I 80 Sculpture in Sidney Nebraska
Sculptor Hans Van de Bovenkamp arrives in Sidney late Wednesday to fix Roadway Confluence the 382 foot tall sculpture on Interstate 80. Pineapplecrush Two-Truck Crash Injures Driver on I-80
A Sunday morning crash on I-80 about a mile south and 96 miles west of Big Springs injured Ronald Beckett, 23, of Festus, Mo, and caused about 49000 dollars in damage. Dwayne Metzler, 23, Lakewood Colo, drove the rear truck. Beckett was treated at Ogallala hospital for a scalp wound and broken pelvis. The eastbound loaded pineapple truck and the furniture truck were involved. Trooper Larry Krebsbach of Sidney investigated.

Sidney farmer dies in tractor accident
Charles Larry Oliverius 30 of Sidney died in a tractor accident while mowing weeds on rented land. The tractor went through a fence into Lodgepole Creek, landed on its top, crushing him. He was last seen between 4 and 5 p.m. and found by authorities later that evening. He attended Western Nebraska Technical College in Sidney, ran a TV business, and later farmed. He is survived by his wife Edna, four children, parents, and a sister. Services Wednesday at Wesleyan Church, burial Pleasant View Cemetery Lodgepole. Memorials to donor's choice.
