County commissioners hear beer license ruling
County commissioners Tuesday received a state liquor control commission ruling stating that when a beer license is granted outside a village, the applicant must pay the occupation tax on beer at the nearest incorporated village. The commission said it cannot issue an off sale outside corporation limits alone but may grant an off sale with an on sale. The on sale license would cost 25 dollars plus the occupation tax.

Not Too Late For WPA Applications
It is not too late for cities counties or irrigation districts to apply for WPA improvement projects. Western Nebraska district at Alliance reports many applications arriving fast with over half a million dollars already approved and sent to Lincoln. Projects include schools pools streets water and sewer extensions and farm to market roads. Communities only need to notify the district office of their needs.

Regina Messing Weds Gayle Jarred In Cheyenne Farm Ceremony
Miss Regina Messing daughter of Mr and Mrs George Messing prominent Cheyenne farmers became the bride of Gayle Jarred in a Wednesday eight o'clock mass at the Catholic church. Rev Anton Link officiated with Conrad and Margaret Messing as witnesses. The gown was white satin and lace with a high neck and long sleeves. A shower bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas complemented her veil. A dance followed at Krueger's Lake for guests before the couple planned to settle on a farm in the Colton district.

County fair to host four days of grand entertainment

J. Earl Thayer prominent Potter druggist died in a local hospital early Sunday. Funeral services at the Methodist church drew a large crowd from Sidney Potter and nearby communities. Small Seed Wheat Supply Noted in County and State
County agents report a limited supply of uncertified Cheyenne winter wheat in the county while statewide ample certified Cheyenne wheat is available. Nebraska 60 and Cheyenne appear in the Nebraska Crop Growers association testing list with field inspection passes. Nine growers had fields pass inspection this year. Nebraska 60 traces to Turkish Red from the Nebraska experiment station with first distribution in 1908.

Hunters and fishermen avoid badges until January
Game Warden Frank B. OConnell says the 1935 legislature delayed badge requirements for hunters and fishermen. Badges will be produced by the board of control under the prison industries program at the state reformatory and prison. Machinery setup and manufacture of the buttons cannot start until after the first of January. The law required showing licenses in a small badge worn on the coat lapel.
