1969 Wheat Outlook Signals Long Term Pressure
Agriculture Department projects 1969 output at 1.5 billion bushels, far exceeding domestic use and exports. A 12 percent production cut is seen, with debate over 10 to 16 percent, as stockpiles rise and exports fall amid large world crops and competition in Europe. The International Grains Agreement, effective July 1, 1968, adds price constraints through June 30, 1971.
