Sidney reminiscences highlight 1920s semi pro baseball star Floyd Brown

In Sidney the memory of 1920 and 1921 semi pro baseball flourishes with Floyd Brown, a catcher who helped Sidney win the Denver Post tournament in 1921 and earned a Giants contract before moving to the West Coast. The Browns, now in Longview Washington, recently visited Sidney on their way to a Logan Iowa family reunion. Also recalled are Col. George C. Abert’s retirement at Redstone Arsenal, Rev. James Morgan’s new parish assignments in Colorado, a thirty eight year reunion at the Gerald Pitman farm, and Sidney visits by Charles Gardner of San Jose and others with ties to the community.
