Parades and Events Begin as Cheyenne County Fair Opens
The Cheyenne County Fair starts with 70 parade entries, exhibits, rides, and concessions. Fair Board members, judges, 4-H workers, and exhibitors worked long hours setting up before today’s open class horse show and cattle judging. The parade runs at 10 am along Jackson Street with judges and announcers named, as the fair traces its 86 year history from Farmers Days to a 4-H dominated showcase. The rodeo, horse racing, and 4-H contests fill the weekend schedule, culminating in Monday’s livestock show and tractor pulling contests.
