Temperance drive and town growth at Antelopeville
The Antelopeville notes describe frequent dances, new arrivals, and town expansion. Plans include a new schoolhouse and depot work by C F Robertson and others. A strong temperance message warns liquor harms the community as scaffolded by local leaders and residents.
Bridge accepted and new bridge awarded in Antelope precinct
County commissioners of Cheyenne county Nebraska met in Sidney on August 13 1895 accepting the Lodge Pole creek bridge near Rose street and ordering a $453 payment to C A Young for its construction. The board rejected a liquor license petition for Antelope precinct citing insufficient freeholders and bond, and awarded the Lodge Pole creek bridge contract to C A Young at several dollars per foot with bond conditions. A deputy county clerk was approved with a salary not to exceed 700 per year. The next meeting was set for September 14 1895.
