Deuel County Fair crowns grand champion beef

Cloudy cool weather did not deter fairgoers at the Deuel County Fair in Chappell where Robert Germer captured Grand Champion Baby Beef. Reserve honors went to Tom Essman with other high placements shown by Dale Fernander and Byron Peeks. County Agent Bob Woolman praised the cattle quality as Fred Schmidt of Keith County judged the beeves.

Deuel County Fair Closes With Final Grandstand Program

The Deuel County Fair ends tonight with top 4-H winners announced, a ladies slipper kicking contest, 4-H King and Queen crowning, and the Senior Talent Show. Sunny weather boosted final day plans after a chilly, drizzly run. Tuesday’s barbecue was postponed to 4 pm and the evening program moved to the school auditorium due to rain.
