Cattle Prices Falter as Market Dips in South Omaha Trade
In South Omaha on August 7 1901 receipts of cattle were liberal with prices 15 to 25 cents below last week. Fat cattle weakened amid slower demand for common stock while western grass beeves sold to killers around 300 to 385 dollars. Stockers and feeders activity picked up though not finished, and western cattle were unsettled as country buyers delayed decisions. Hogs showed strong participation but fell 10 to 15 cents with prices from 5 30 to 5 85, while sheep sales remained liberal and prices declined across the board. Nye Buchanan Co. reports.
