Frontier Airlines Says Grave Financial Crisis
Frontier Airlines told the Civil Aeronautics Board it faces a grave financial crisis beyond managerial control and urged either higher subsidies or permission to suspend service on routes with heavy subsidy needs. President Paul Burke and Thomas F. O'Neil outlined a net loss exceeding 10 million dollars in 18 months ending June 30, wiping out two decades of earnings and creating a 4.5 million deficit. Frontier serves 99 airports and 116 communities and plans to seek suspension on eastern Montana routes.
