New Wheat Varieties Studied for Nebraska Seed
Nebraska's Foundation Seed Division produced limited 1913 seed of three new wheat varieties Gage Scoul and Lancer. They showed excellent yields in 1961 1962 despite severe stem rust. Seed will be allocated to experienced certified growers to maximize seed increase for 1964 with Gage suited to southeast Nebraska Scout to south central and southwest regions Lancer adaptable statewide but Hessian fly and soil borne mosaic limit southeastern and south central use.
