District Court Modifies Injunction Against Elevator Firms

St Louis Tourist Hurt In Lincoln Highway Crash
A St Louis family of three on a mountain tour were badly cut and bruised when their car blew a tire six miles east of Sidney on the Lincoln Highway. The driver lost control and crashed into a telephone pole. one finger was amputated. They were aided by motorists and treated by Dr Harry Mantor before continuing home.

The Atmar Stores Organization, with outlets in Bridgeport, Grand Island, Alliance, and St. Paul, has leased the Central avenue side of the Cheyenne Trading Company's building in Sidney for a general furnishing goods store. Boy Hurt as Truck Wheel Passes Over Head
Five year old Kay Fricke, son of Mr and Mrs Karl Fricke, crawled under a truck on a Potter road Sunday. A wheel rolled back down the incline and narrowly passed over his head causing severe scalp wounds and minor internal injuries. He was taken to a doctor and is recovering. The imprint of his face was left where the wheel passed.

Civil War veteran joins war heroes in great beyond
Andrew Jackson Withers, Civil War veteran and longtime Lodge Pole resident, died July 2 1927 at age 80 years 8 months and 29 days after a paralytic stroke. Born 1846 in Pennsylvania, he joined the 14th Illinois Infantry at 16, endured Libby Prison, married Hattie Coggins in 1872, homesteaded near Lodge Pole Nebr. and later lived in town. An active G A R member and M E Church adherent, his funeral was held Saturday morning at the M E Church with Crocker Post No 218 in attendance.

Meyer M. Melton, aged 669, longtime Lodge Pole resident, died in Sidney last Thursday night after a short illness. He had been separated from relatives who did not answer notices, with Beatrice noted as his transit origin. Funeral services were held at Howard's chapel Sunday at 2:30 pm, Rev. Samuel Light of the Presbyterian church officiating, burial in Woodlawn Cemetery east of the city.

School Fund Gets Raise by Sale of Booze Cars
Two confiscated cars were sold at auction last week after liquor possession charges. The Ford coupe taken from Minnie Crowder sold for $46 to Otto Kurz, and the Chrysler sedan taken from Louis Stryker sold for $550 to Louis Blaha. Proceeds were placed in the school fund.
