One sad note was struck by a young wife yet no grief overshadowed the departure. Close Calls For Three Locally
A trio of accidents last Saturday left no fatalities. Charles W. Hornaday suffered a deep cut and bruises from a tractor disc, yet escaped serious injury. Six year old Robert Harper, while coasting in the business district, crashed into a car rear and sustained facial and other wounds. Milford Brown known as Buster and another Rice boy hunted with a 22 rifle. a shot through a billboard caused a hobo to suffer a foot wound while the man slept nearby. the injured man is jailed and the foot worsens.

Unimproved Cheyenne County land sells at auction
A court house sale of 320 acres in Cheyenne County drew bidders Wednesday. J. A. Bentley purchased the tract, Section 138, Township 16, Range 49, northeast of Gurley, at 66.50 dollars per acre. The Turner estate owned the land with no improvements, about sixty acres under cultivation.
