Continuing Role Expected For Farm Credit System
A top Agriculture Department official says a strong credit system will be needed as farmers expand production and meet growing world markets. J Phil Campbell notes freeing farmer response to demand boosts income and that credit will meet the challenge amid anniversaries of the Federal Intermediate Credit Banks and Production Credit Associations. He cites rising wheat feed grains and soybeans demand, with soybean plantings up, and feed grain acres up six percent from 1972, signaling a vigorous expansion ahead.
