Village Trustees Grant Five Saloon Licenses and Two Drug Permits
The Village Trustees held a special meeting to grant five liquor licenses for May 18 1900 to April 30 1901 and two druggists permits. Bonds of applicants were approved, one additional surety required for W F Bassett, and a marshal and poundmaster were appointed. Kretz and Spicknall Wed in St Patrick’s Church
The wedding of George Kretz and Mabel Spicknall occurred Wednesday April 25 at St Patrick’s church in this city with Rev Father Flood officiating. After the ceremony the couple hosted a wedding dinner at the Wolf home in Sidney Draw and later a reception and dance at the Sidney Draw schoolhouse. They will reside on Kretz’s farm five miles southwest of Sidney. A State Journal dispatch notes a Burlington route survey nearing Ogden, with a secretive party finishing near Devil’s Gate and plans for a tunnel into Ogden city, the distance tracked at about 64 miles from Evanston.

Died In St Louis After Tumor Operation
Mrs. Bertha Kaufman formerly Mrs. Colin died at a St Louis hospital during tumor removal. A Sidney resident for years she had lived in Anaconda and later married David Kaufman of Ara conda. Her death brings sorrow to family and many friends in Sidney. Her first husband M Cohn died in Philadelphia en route home to see his aged mother.
