Crucial Period Arrives For Grops Showers Encourage Conservation
The wind and dust show the need for soil and water conservation despite prior efforts since the 1930s. A. A. Fenske completed an underground irrigation pipeline replacing a rusted surface line. Earl Kruger extended a cement ditch to save water. The tree planting crew finished this year’s work for multiple locals and a Boy Scout camp. Seeding by Francis Runge adds irrigated pasture with a mix enabling two to three head per acre. Elmer Graff terraces 320 acres to prevent erosion. Plans are set for Stewardship Week observance inviting churches to join in thanking God for soil and water resources.
