The Second annual Sunday School Banquet for Lutheran Churches will be held Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. Master of ceremonies Lowry Lindell will preside at 6 30 p m. The evening’s main speaker is Dr Theophilus Janzow president of Concordia Lutheran College Seward Nebraska affiliated with the Missouri Synod. Janzow a Minnesota native attended St Paul Concordia College and graduated from Concordia Seminary St Louis. He joined Concordia College Seward staff in 1959 as professor of religion and sociology and became president in 1963. A group performance by the Sidney High Madrigal directed by Duane Nichols and Lutheran members from the District Music Contest will follow.
A fellowship supper Honoring Sunday School teachers and officers of the First Christian Church will be served. The covered dish dinner starts at 6 30 p m with Mrs Jack Weimer presiding. All church members and guests are invited bringing a covered dish and table service.
