Mr and Mrs Frank Whitelock returned on No 19 Sunday from Omaha where Mrs Whitelock has been in hospital for weeks. She is much improved and expects to be entirely well soon. She is glad to be home among Sidney people.
Theo N Vail a key figure in launching modern telephony died in Baltimore last Friday at seventy five. A former Lodgepole telegraph operator and Union Pacific clerk, he rose to lead railway mail service before joining American Bell and later Western Union. He steered mergers, oversaw policy shifts, and influenced the expansion of telephone networks into the early 20th century. The obituary notes his ties to Omaha figures and his role in reorganizing postal and telegraph services.
