Farm price outlook tied to forthcoming national farm bills
The Nebraska College of Agriculture reports that farm prices for the next 30 days will hinge on forthcoming national farm legislation. Wheat prices may rise despite conditions, with a small 1933 crop probable and carryover reductions likely. Corn prices could also be affected by relief measures, while hog prices may dip from April to May. Cattle futures expect weaker well finished steers, dairy butter may fall with higher butterfat output, and poultry prices should stay near present levels with storage below year ago and five-year averages. Eggs and price incentives from local grocer advances accompany the notice.
