Nebraska Settling Well Reduces Drought Fears
Seventeen years past drought was common in Nebraska but settlement brings rain and a well settled region is less drought prone. Mrs Enslow near town suffers chills and fever from earlier illness while Western Nebraska’s climate is praised. No saloons in Big Springs and a large spring serves the area. Mr W Angelo and family plan a move to a northwest claim while continuing town business. Cheyenne and Keith counties see an influx of educated settlers.
