Steer Creek Campground Near Nenzel Planned by Forest Service
Nebraska forest project near Nenzel 17 miles south in Cherry county will create Steer Creek Campground with 24 campsites for tents or trailers, picnic tables, fire gates, drinking water and toilets. Location between Niobrara and Snake Rivers west of the ranger station, amid 400 acres of Ponderosa Pine planted in 1914. Completion targeted for fall 1969 with limited camping this summer. roads and sites cleared by Chadron Job Corps.
