The Central Granaries Company began operations at a newly completed grain elevator last Wednesday. It features a gasoline powered lift and modern traffic apparatus. Death of J. A. Berkland Near Leafdale Nebraska
Mr J A Berkland died at his home near Leafdale Nebraska on April 5 1908 after months in bed. He was born in Sweden March 2 1835 and came to America in 1880. He was a Cheyenne county settler for over twenty years and died aged 73 leaving a wife six children four daughters and two sons. Funeral conducted by Rev M Leafdale with many friends in attendance.
