Depot wage scale hike announced at Sioux Ordnance Depot
Colonel Harold J. Preble, commanding officer, said the War Department Wage Coordination Board approved a new pay schedule affecting about 625 employees. Wages rise about twelve cents hourly with starting rates of 0.83 for munition handlers and 0.78 for freight handlers and laborers. Promotions possible to 0.92 and 0.87 respectively. Field Executive For Boy Scouts Selected in Wye Braska Area
Harold Hemphill of Rocky Ford Colorado non veteran has been named Boy Scout field executive for the Wye Braska area succeeding the late James Michaud. He will oversee scouting in Banner Kimball Cheyenne counties Nebraska and Platte Goshen counties Wyoming from Scottsbluff offices. Hemphill served two years with naval forces afloat as personal yeoman to David McCampbell and was discharged March 13. Plane Damaged In Mishap With Couple Aboard
An Aeronca Chief owned by Schwartz and Johnson Flying Service suffered minor damage last Sunday when pilot Ralph Fraass of Lodgepole landed left of the runway and overshot the field. Fraass, a private pilot with prior solo experience in this aircraft, was checked before flight. Mrs Fraass was aboard. neither was injured. Insurance covered the loss.
