Perimeter Road Plan Endorsed For Interstate 80 Access At Sidney
A public hearing approved a two interchange perimeter road plan to maximize Interstate 80 benefits for Sidney. The plan calls for a west interchange near the flat top bluff and an east interchange locating roads to connect with Highways 30 385 and 19. Rest areas and underpasses are included to preserve access and ease travel into Sidney. The city seeks federal and state funds and prepared to bid early. Meanwhile a railroad strike halted traffic and paralyzed rail service, with trucks and air service used to maintain mail delivery.
