History of the Sibley Golf Course and its beginnings
This reminiscence recounts the creation of Osceola County’s Municipal Golf Course on Sibley’s east edge. It describes initial cow pasture use, council battles, key supporters like Father Edward Maynard and Clyde Brown, early token greens and tees, improvised mowing, tree donations from George F. Sokol, and later improvements under Ted Tutsch. The narrative honors community effort, volunteers, and ongoing club leagues.
