Wrecker Wrecked in Train Collision Near Coal Chutes
A wrecking train operating near Shoshone collided with a nine car freight and was struck while backing into a siding. Two box cars were ground to kindling, three more were disabled, and the main track was blocked for hours while diversions were made. One wrecking crew member escaped unharmed by leaping onto a rope coil. The wrecking engine was damaged but returned to service.
