Southern Idaho rail plans extend lines through Lincoln county

The long discussed railway expansion in southern Idaho progresses with Idaho Southern grading Wendell to Hager Mann and Jerome to Milner segments, electrification planned at Lower Salmon Falls, and parallel steam routes by Oregon Short Line from Burley to Oakley. A future link from Gooding to Soldier taps Camas prairie, boosting Hagerman Valley growth and Clover Creek settlement. A north-south connector from Shoshone to Jerome and Twin Falls would join Ketchum to Cobra, Nevada with the Southern Pacific system.
