Promising Young Man Fatally Crushed on King Hill
Eugene Williams, 27, of Pocatello, was killed Sunday morning when he was crushed between the wheels of a westbound freight train on King Hill. He tripped and fell onto the rails as the train crawled uphill, was taken to Glenn's Ferry and then Pocatello, where he died en route. Funeral services were held in Pocatello and later in Shoshone, where he is buried. he was a longtime Elks member and former railroad employee. His mother, Mrs. C. R. Wheeler of Shoshone, survives, along with his wife, whom he met in Jenn's Ferry.
