Art Warden, contractor on the North Shoshone tract, was injured in a runaway on the 14th inst and placed under Dr W H Baugh’s care. He twisted his ankle and sprained his back, then sent home to Boise for recovery. Rev Chas HW Moore left for Manhattan Montana to accept a Baptist church pastorate, bringing his family. He had located on a Carey 40 acre claim north of Jerome, renting it for one third of the crop, aiming to own the home after water-right payment. The Carey Act is praised over reclamation for certain settlers. Moore’s ministry was not to be disrupted by home ownership, as the Carey plan costs more but offers easier establishment with less privation.
